What’s required to create a 3D model?

In order to create a high or low-poly 3D model, send us your product images or URLs showing as many different angles, add your product dimensions, and we’ll take it from there.

Required:

Reference images capturing all angles (unseen areas will be improvised)
Dimensions or CAD file (the size of unmeasured parts will be improvised)
Final deliverable (e.g.: .usdz, .gltf, source file, silo renders, Modelry embed link etc.)

Desired:

CAD files
High resolution texture references
SKU: a unique product identifier (e.g. BLU-V-SFA-26)
Asset Name: name of the product. e.g. Velvet Sofa
Primary reference image named after Product SKU
Other additional info about the product, dimensions etc.

How do I implement 3D on my website?

The process to implement 3D on any website is very simple.

When ordering a 3D model, we will deliver the ready-to-use image (jpeg, png etc.) straight to you - no funky implementation required.

To implement 3D viewer or augmented reality (AR), we request the following file formats of a 3D model - glTF or GLB files, USDZ file - and a simple preview image.

The embed feature will allow you to create a 3D viewer & AR directly from our platform.

3D models with their own original 3D formats can be stored in our Modelry platform for any future usage.

How are 3D models stored?

3D models are typically stored in a digital asset management (DAM) system. Depending on the intended 3D/AR solution, the 3D asset typically consists of multiple elements, including 3D files (.usdz, .gITF, .fbx, .glb or .max formats) and texture images.

What is an example of a digital asset?

Digital asset examples include any type of digital file, such as 3D files, documents (either in Word or PDF), slideshows, photos, video, music, design files, etc.
